Blue Star Network Security hosted its 3rd annual Take Your Child to Work Day this morning at the Udvar-Hazy National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. Nearly 50 employees and family members participated in the event, which included an interactive paper airplane demonstration presented exclusively for the Blue Star group. The Udvar-Hazy Center hosts thousands of aviation and space artifacts including a Concorde, an SR-71 Blackbird, and the Space Shuttle Discovery. Attendees also enjoyed access to the Donald D. Engen Observation Tower and the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hanger.
“Our employees don’t always have the opportunity to bring their families to work with them, so events like this one have become especially important to the team,” said Alexa Watson, Director of Employee Engagement. “For the past few years we’ve made an effort to host STEM inspired events that enable us to share our love of technology with the next generation. This year’s trip to the Udvar-Hazy Center was so compelling that even a few child-free folks came along. The space shuttle was a huge hit with everyone across the board. I don’t know how we’re going to top the Discovery next year! We definitely have our work cut out for us.”
